My name is Dylan James, I’m a photographer & digital creator from Fort Worth, TX. 

In 2021, after some major life changes, I pivoted to pursue my interest in photography— a passion I had long set aside since my teenage years. I started ‘Life in Snapshots’ with the goal to push myself out of my comfort zone. 

Soon after, I found myself in the music scene. I began documenting local artists & bands performing in the Fort Worth area. As I practiced my craft, developed a workflow, and established new connections— I began finding a lot of confidence in myself and the snapshots I created. 

My work then expanded into portraiture, sports, street & tourism photography. Along the way, I discovered a deep connection to Vernacular Photography, which became the foundation of my approach.

Vernacular photography is all about capturing the authentic, unscripted moments that make a moment unique— those genuine snapshots that tell a story without any artificial posing or staging that take the models out of the moment. 

I like to describe it as having a professional photographer who blends into the background, snapping candid photos of your family, friends, and the little details that make your event feel truly yours. 

Whether it’s a concert in front of fans, a tense & thrilling sporting event, or a special gathering with family and friends; the focus on the authentic, personal moments that tell a story. The fleeting interactions, spontaneous laughs, and quiet glances—that really reflect the atmosphere and emotions of the day. It’s all about preserving the personality and moment as it naturally unfolds.

For me, photography is about telling your story, the way it happens—raw, honest, and full of life. I want to give you a collection of photos that transport you back to those moments, so you can relive those real, beautiful moments for years to come— exactly as they were.
